Inventory Management
The inventory page is built around fast counting: pick a location, scan the cards, type counts, and submit. Each step below has a Show me button that lights up the compass on the matching control so you can see exactly where it lives.
The compasses live in the inventory page toolbar and on the inventory cards. Pick a location first so the cards appear.
The tour
1. Go to the Inventory page
The Inventory page is where you take counts and review stock. Pick a location once you arrive so the cards appear.
2. Search inventory
Search items by name or SKU. The list filters as you type — handy when you have hundreds of items.
3. Filter inventory
Filter by item type (Buy / Sell / Make), category, or storage area. Combine multiple filters to narrow your view to exactly the items you need to count.
4. Choose a location
Pick which location you want to view or count inventory for. This determines which items and stock levels appear in the cards below.
5. Pick a count date
Choose the date your counts will be recorded under. Defaults to today; the calendar button turns red when you select a past date so you don't forget.
6. Read the card status
The colored left edge of each inventory card tells you its count status — red = due for a count, green = counted today, grey = other states. The card also shows current on-hand stock and the last count date for this location.
7. Pick a counting unit
Items with multiple units (case, each, etc) can be counted in any of them. The unit dropdown on each card lets you pick which unit you're entering the count in.
8. Type the count
Type the physical count into the count field on the card. Counts are staged but not saved until you click Submit.
9. Submit your counts
Click Submit to record all staged counts. The badge on the button shows how many unsaved changes you have. You must select a location before you can submit.
10. Quick adjustments
Click the three-line icon on any inventory card to open a quick adjustment form — useful for one-off corrections or per-item notes.
Tips
- Use filters and search to scope counts to one shelf or area at a time.
- The status badge resets to grey once you save a count for the day.
- For physical changes that aren't a recount (damage, theft, transfer), use Adjust on the item detail panel instead.
