Payment Methods
When your customers receive an invoice from Peasy, they can choose how to pay online. Peasy also lets your team record offline payments and pay vendor bills by ACH.
How to Get There
Click Configure (gear icon) in the sidebar, then select Payment Settings. To see the customer-facing payment options, send an invoice from Sell > Invoices.
Bank Transfer (ACH)
- What it is: A direct transfer from your customer's bank account to yours
- How it works: The customer enters their bank details (routing and account number) or connects their bank
- Processing time: Usually 2-3 business days
- Fees: Your business pays the ACH processing fee; the customer sees the invoice amount they are paying
Credit or Debit Card
- What it is: Standard card payment (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
- How it works: The customer enters their card details on the payment page
- Processing time: Usually processed within 1 business day
- Fees: Your business pays the card processing fee; the customer sees the invoice amount they are paying
Vendor Bill Payments
When you pay a vendor bill from Peasy, the online payment rail is ACH. Open the bill, choose Pay Bill, then select Pay with Peasy. If the vendor has no bank destination yet, you can enter their bank details or email them a secure vendor portal link so they can add the bank themselves.
Before you send a vendor bill payment, Peasy shows:
- The payment amount going to the vendor
- The Peasy service fee
- The total amount debited from your payment method
The vendor receives the bill payment amount. The Peasy service fee is paid by your business and retained by Peasy for facilitating the payment. The fee is shown to your business before you send the payment, but it is not shown to the vendor as a deduction or extra line on their payment.
Offline Payment Methods
Use Record Payment for money that moved outside Peasy, such as check, cash, wire, card, or an ACH started from your bank. Recording the payment updates the invoice or bill balance, but it does not move money through Peasy.
What Customers See
When a customer clicks the payment link in their invoice email:
- They see the invoice details (items, amounts, total)
- They choose their payment method (bank transfer or card)
- They enter their payment information
- They confirm the payment
The whole process takes just a couple of minutes.
Good to Know
- Available payment methods depend on your account setup, verification status, and whether you're collecting an invoice payment or paying a vendor bill.
- All payment information is handled securely — Peasy never stores your customers' card numbers or bank details directly.
- Customers can save their payment method for future invoices, making repeat payments even faster.
