Google Sheets Integration

IntegrationsUpdated September 5, 2026 · Reviewed by Peasy Team

Peasy uses Google Sheets in three ways: as a template for bulk item entry, as a template for bulk Work Orders, and as an automatically updated inventory export.

How to Get There

For the inventory export, open Configure > Integrations > Google Sheets.

For a bulk-item template, open the bulk add tool from Buy > Items to buy or Sell > Items to sell, then select Open in Google Sheets. For work orders, open Make > Work Orders, select Bulk upload, then select Open in Google Sheets.

Inventory Export

The inventory export keeps two tabs in one connected spreadsheet:

  • Inventory History — inventory movements and their details
  • Current Inventory — the latest inventory totals

To set it up:

  1. Select Enable and connect your Google account.
  2. Select Create spreadsheet. Peasy creates the sheet and runs the first sync.
  3. Use Open to view the sheet.

Peasy refreshes the spreadsheet automatically once a day. You can select Sync at any time to update it sooner.

If a sync stalls

If a sync has not finished after 10 minutes, Peasy shows Sync stalled and makes the Sync button available again. Select Sync to safely try again. The next automatic sync can also retry a stalled export.

If Peasy says your Google authorization expired, select Reconnect before trying again.

How It Works

  1. Open the bulk add tool from Buy > Items to buy or Sell > Items to sell (click the table icon in the toolbar), or select Bulk upload on Make > Work Orders.
  2. Click Open in Google Sheets at the bottom of the spreadsheet modal.
  3. A pre-formatted Google Sheet opens with the correct column headers.
  4. Fill in your item or Work Order data in Google Sheets — you can collaborate with teammates, use formulas, or take your time.
  5. When ready, copy the data from Google Sheets and paste it back into Peasy's spreadsheet grid.
  6. Click Create items for an item sheet, or continue through Map fields, Map templates, and Review for a Work Order sheet.

When to Use Google Sheets

  • Collaborating with teammates — Multiple people can fill in data at the same time
  • Working with large datasets — Google Sheets handles hundreds of rows comfortably
  • Using formulas — Calculate costs, conversions, or other values before importing
  • Taking your time — Save your work in Google Sheets and come back to it later

Good to Know

  • The Google Sheets template includes the same columns as Peasy's built-in spreadsheet grid.
  • Item sheets require Item Name and Unit. Work Order sheets require Quantity plus either Item Name or SKU.
  • You can also download a CSV template from the same modal if you prefer working in Excel.
  • Google Sheets templates are one-way: their data moves into Peasy only when you paste it back and complete the item or Work Order import. Inventory-export data moves from Peasy to the connected sheet; editing the exported sheet does not change Peasy.
