Vendor
A vendor is a company or person you buy goods from. In Peasy, vendor records store contact information, payment terms, and are linked to the buy items they supply and the purchase orders you send them.
How It Works in Peasy
- Manage vendors from Buy > Vendors
- Each vendor has a name, contact info, optional payment terms, and an optional Vendor Type for classifying suppliers
- Buy items are linked to vendors — one item can have buy items from multiple vendors
- POs are created per vendor — all items on a PO come from the same vendor
- Vendor performance is visible through receiving history and bill tracking
- Vendor Type describes the vendor record itself. It is separate from item variant types such as Buy, Sell, Make, and Conversion.
Why It Matters
Vendors are central to your supply chain. Knowing who supplies what, at what price, and how reliably they deliver helps you make better purchasing decisions and negotiate better terms.
