A work order is a document that instructs your production team to manufacture a specific quantity of a product. In Peasy, completing a work order records the ingredients used and, when Qty Made is positive, the finished goods produced from a recipe or template.
How It Works in Peasy
- Create work orders from Make > Work Orders
- Each work order is based on a production template (recipe) and specifies the quantity to produce
- Work orders list the ingredients needed and their quantities
- When completed, the work order deducts ingredient inventory. A positive Qty Made adds finished product inventory; a zero-output run adds none.
- Work orders move through statuses: Draft → Planned → In Progress → Complete (or Cancelled)
Why It Matters
Work orders are how production connects to inventory. They record the ingredients consumed and the actual finished quantity produced, including runs that consumed inputs but yielded no usable output.
