Work Orders Management
Work orders track your manufacturing and assembly tasks from planning through completion. Each step below has a Show me button that lights up the compass on the matching control so you can see exactly where it lives.
The compasses live in the Work Orders page header. Visit Make > Work Orders to see them all.
The tour
1. Go to the Work Orders page
Work orders live in Make > Work Orders. The compasses for this tour live in the page header.
2. Filter work orders
Filter by status, template, date, or any custom field to zero in on what you're looking for. Combine multiple filters to narrow the list.
3. Search work orders
Quickly find work orders by number or item name. The list filters as you type.
4. Bulk actions
Select multiple work orders with the row checkboxes to perform bulk actions like printing. Click the checkbox in a status group header to select an entire group.
5. View options
Switch between three views: List by status (work orders grouped by status), List by day (a continuous day-by-day planner with an Unscheduled side panel), or Month (a continuous-scroll calendar). Your choice is saved and remembered. Switching views does not change any filters you have set.
6. Create a work order
Click New Work Order to start one from a template. Choose yield by units or batches, optionally split yield across multiple work orders, and set the production date and location.
Tips
- Work orders are grouped by status in List by status for at-a-glance progress tracking.
- List by day and Month are great for long-running work orders and capacity planning. Both scroll continuously and have a floating control pill in the top-right with previous/next, a date picker, Today, and Print.
- In List by day, drag from the Unscheduled side panel onto a day to schedule it; selecting multiple work orders and dragging one moves the whole selection.
- The bulk-print action saves time when prepping a day's batch — in List by day, Print generates a bundle of individual work-order PDFs for the selected rows (up to 50), or a 7-day overview when nothing is selected.
