Flags

Flags tell you what needs attention across your business. Instead of checking every page, open the Flags panel to see what's running low, what needs to be made, and what's on its way in.

Opening the Flags Panel

Click the flag icon near the top of the sidebar to open the Flags panel. When the sidebar is expanded, you'll see a red badge with the total count of items needing action. When collapsed, a red dot appears on the icon.

Filter Tabs

The Flags panel organizes items into tabs so you can focus on what matters:

TabWhat it showsColor
AllEverything that needs attention, grouped by action
BuyItems below minimum stock that need purchasingBlue
MakeProducts that need to be producedPurple
PendingItems already on order that are coming inOrange
CountItems due for an inventory countRed
SnoozedFlags you've snoozed for laterGray
ResolvedCompleted remindersGreen

Each flag card shows the item name and an action badge (Buy, Make, or Pending). When you have multiple locations, a small location pin appears in the bottom-right corner of the card — hover the card to see the full item name and location. Clicking a flag opens the item detail panel directly on the destination page so you can act on it without losing context.

Why Inventory Items Are Flagged

Inventory items are flagged when pending inventory transactions are taken into account and the projected inventory level falls below the item's Restock Point. In practice, Peasy compares the current inventory level, the net pending inventory for the location, and the Restock Point. If current inventory plus the net pending amount drops below the Restock Point, the item needs attention.

To verify a flag yourself:

  1. Open the item in the unified item detail panel.
  2. Filter the item's inventory history to Pending inventory transactions.
  3. Filter to the location shown on the flag.
  4. Compare the current inventory level, net pending inventory, and Restock Point.

The math should show that the projected inventory level falls below the Restock Point.

Snoozing Flags

If you don't want to act on a flag right now, you can snooze it. Click the snooze option on any flag card to set a reminder. Snoozed flags move to the Snoozed tab and reappear when the snooze period expires.

Red badges appear on sidebar items when something needs your attention:

WhereWhat it means
InboxUnprocessed items (emails, documents)
Tasks & NotesTasks that are due or overdue
Count (Inventory)Items that need to be counted
Items (Buy)Items below their Restock Point
Bills (Buy)New, unreviewed bills
Pending (Receive)Orders waiting to be received
Templates (Make)Templates with ingredient gaps
Work Orders (Make)Work orders due today or overdue

Home Dashboard

The Flags card on your home page shows a summary of what needs attention, organized into collapsible sections for Buy, Make, Pending, Count, Import, Snoozed, and Resolved. Each section links directly to the relevant page.

How Flags Connect to Other Features

The Flags panel brings together alerts from across Peasy. Each tab connects to a deeper feature:

  • Buy flags come from Restock Points — items whose projected inventory falls below their minimum stock threshold after pending transactions are considered. You can also see these items on the Low and Order filter tabs on the Buy > Items to buy page.
  • Make flags come from Template Gap Alerts — templates where you don't have enough ingredients to complete a production run. A red badge on Make > Items to make in the sidebar shows how many templates have gaps.
  • Pending flags show items already on order or in production that are coming in, so you know help is on the way. Pending buy items link to Receive > Pending, while pending make items link to Work Orders.
  • Count flags show items that are overdue for a physical count based on your count badge threshold.
  • QuickBooks flags appear when your QuickBooks integration needs attention — failed syncs, stale links (records deleted in QuickBooks), missed webhook events, new QuickBooks items waiting to be imported or dismissed, unmapped categories that block item sync, or token issues. If your token is about to expire, the flag includes a Refresh button so you can fix it in one click. Other flags link straight to the relevant section of Configure > Integrations > QuickBooks.

Good to Know

  • Flags update in real time as your inventory changes.
  • The flag icon badge count includes buy items, make items, new Shopify imports, items needing a count, and any QuickBooks issues that need attention.
  • You can use flags to drive your daily workflow — start each day by checking what needs attention.
