Documents brings your filed attachments and completed file imports together in one place. Find a file, open its details, and follow its related records or transactions without remembering where it was originally filed.
How to Get There
Click Documents near the top of the sidebar, directly below To-Dos.
Find a File
- Enter part of the filename in Search.
- Click Filter, then select one or more File format options, such as PDF, Excel, CSV / TSV, or Image. Clear the filter to show every format.
- Use the sort menu to choose Newest first or Oldest first.
- Switch between List view and Card view using the buttons at the right of the toolbar. Peasy remembers your choice in this browser.
Both views show a format icon, filename, upload or import date, and associated record information. Use Next and Previous when results span several pages.
Open a Document
Click its filename, row, or card to open the details panel.
The panel shows the available file details and a Related records section. This lists inventory transactions when available, or links to associated records otherwise. Field labels identify the record, such as Bill, Receipt, Sales Order, or Vendor. Bill documents show the bill and its linked purchase orders. Open a purchase order to see its receiving history. When uploader details are available, Uploaded by shows the name and email separated by a dot, with the email in lighter gray. Click a transaction to open the same log detail panel used in Inventory → Logs. Use Back to return to the document's details. Click an associated record's name to open that record.
Choose the Download icon from the document details when an original file is available. It is hidden while viewing a related transaction. For a completed file import with saved review data, choose View import to open that exact import's review, including its saved data and imported records.
Good to Know
- Pending Inbox documents and unfinished imports appear after they are filed or completed. An import with unresolved records is not included yet.
- Filed Inbox PDFs and other attachments appear once their records are created. Email messages themselves do not appear; filed attached files do.
- Files attached to completed receipts also appear in Documents.
- Documents linked only to archived sources are hidden. Files with another source that hasn't been archived, and uploads without a source, stay visible. Archiving does not delete the original files or the records they created.
- A file can have no inventory transaction. Vendor and item-family attachments, for example, do not require an inventory movement.
- Spreadsheet imports may retain their saved review without storing the original uploaded file. Download is available only for stored originals; View import opens the saved review.
- Documents has no file previews or upload button. Attach new files through the existing Inbox or the relevant record's Documents tab.
