Lot

A lot is a specific batch of an item identified by a lot number. In Peasy, lots let you trace a batch from receiving or production through to the sale or work order it went into.

How It Works in Peasy

  • A lot is created when you receive a purchase order or when you complete a work order that produces a finished good.
  • Each lot belongs to one item and has a running Qty — the quantity that's still available. When a lot is consumed to zero, it moves to the Depleted status automatically; lots are never hard-deleted.
  • You can see every lot for an item on the Lots tab of the item detail page, including its number, variant, status, current quantity, source (receipt, production, or manual), first received date, and last activity.
  • When you fulfill a sales order, you can pick which lot to draw from so the right batch is consumed.
  • Lot history rolls up into the item's inventory history — clicking a history row shows the lot it touched.

Why It Matters

Lot tracking is essential for food safety, recalls, and quality control. If an issue comes up with a specific batch, the lot number lets you trace exactly where that batch came from, where it went, and who received it.
