A production run is the execution of a work order — the actual process of manufacturing a product from its ingredients. In Peasy, a production run starts when a work order moves to "In Progress" and ends when it's completed.
How It Works in Peasy
- Start a production run by moving a work order to In Progress
- During the run, your team follows the template's recipe and instructions
- When finished, complete the work order to record the actual quantities produced
- Completing the run deducts the ingredients used. A positive Qty Made adds finished goods; a zero-output run records the production event without adding finished inventory.
- Production time and any notes can be recorded on the work order
Why It Matters
Production runs record what happened during manufacturing. Tracking them through work orders keeps ingredient use and finished output accurate, including a run that consumed ingredients but produced no usable goods.
