An RFQ, called a Quote in the Peasy sidebar, is a request you send to one or more vendors asking what they'd charge for a list of items, before you commit to a purchase order.
How It Works in Peasy
- Manage RFQs from Buy > Quotes
- One RFQ can go to multiple vendors at once — each vendor gets their own copy of the request and responds independently
- Vendors submit pricing (unit cost, availability, lead time) through the vendor portal, or you can enter it for them
- RFQs move through statuses: Draft → Sent → Quoted → Converted (or Cancelled)
- Once you've compared vendor quotes, you convert the winning quote into a purchase order
Why It Matters
RFQs let you shop pricing across vendors for the same items before you order, instead of committing to whichever vendor you order from by default. Comparing quotes side by side helps you find the best price, availability, and lead time for a given order.
