Beacon can help with a few simple cleanup edits, but it shows you the proposed changes before anything is saved.
How to Get There
- Open Beacon from the chat icon or the Ask Beacon action in the command palette.
- Ask for a cleanup, such as "Change items with unit case to Case" or "Remove Acme from these item names."
- Review the preview Beacon shows in its reply.
Review the Preview
For supported cleanup requests, Peasy shows one preview card with every record in the batch, its current value, and its new value. The card and its buttons come from the same saved batch, so the rows you review are the rows Apply uses.
The preview is limited to 10 matching changes. That keeps the chat readable and gives you a small set to review before applying anything. If more matching records remain, the preview says so; after applying the current batch, ask Beacon to continue with the next one.
Nothing changes while you are looking at the preview.
Apply or Cancel
Use the buttons in the preview card:
- Click Apply changes to save the previewed edits.
- Click Cancel to leave everything unchanged.
After changes are applied, Beacon replies with a link back to Items so you can review the updated records.
Undo Changes
After Beacon applies edits, it offers Undo these changes.
Undo only reverses rows that still match what Beacon changed. If someone edited the same record after Beacon applied the change, Peasy leaves that row alone instead of overwriting newer work.
Good to Know
- Beacon only applies the rows shown in the preview. When the card says more matching records remain, ask Beacon to continue after applying the current batch.
- These edits are for narrow text cleanup, such as item or family names and unit labels.
- When adding text, Beacon must use the exact records, a literal name filter, or a broad scope you explicitly requested. It will not silently choose the first records in the catalog.
- Beacon does not use this flow to change inventory quantities, conversions, purchase orders, sales orders, templates, or history.
- If the preview looks wrong, click Cancel and ask Beacon for a narrower request.
